The impermanence of photography
A living photograph that alternates between appearing and disappearing.
The universe is constant in flux, hence nothing will ever happen again in the exact same way, including the ephemeral nature of man and his existence. Instead of accepting this fact, humans have been trying to save the bygone moment, positioning photography as a window to the past. As a witness medium to document the truth, to record the history, or protect the memory, yet a photograph tells viewers what something was, but not exactly what it looked like because things have changed. The project will focus on the interplay of presence and absence, observing the remnants of disappearance and the re-emergence from emptiness. It will redefine photography not as a static record but as a dynamic experience of ephemeral realities. The fact that photography are not permanent is a reminder of human's condition, the vulnerability and the disappointment of seeing things fade. Only one thing stays permanent is the continual transformation, not the existence of the elements themselves.
